  • About Us

The Bedford Club was founded in 1879 as private venue for gentlemen to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life.

Today the club still operates as a private membership club for gentlemen wishing to relax, unwind and socialise. The Bedford Club offers a range of facilities and events for it’s members.

Many of our members find themselves coming to the club after work to enjoy a drink from our bar. Whilst other members join us for lunch and retire to the bar after eating. Alongside the expected range of drinks, we stock a wide variety of wines, hand picked and curated based on the tastes and recommendations of the membership.

At The Bedford Club, we have sporting and entertainment facilities for our members.
Between April and September, our members can enjoy the use of the bowls green (bowls are available to use).
Throughout the year, members can be found within the snooker room honing their skills on our full sized snooker tables (cues are available for use).
If card games are more to your taste, we host bridge nights once a week.
Members are welcome to partake in the competitions and attend the events of each club, if they wish.

The Bedford Club offers food service for members. Each weekday, a two-course lunch is offered for members and their guests.
Occasionally, there are evening meals offered as part of club events or privately arranged parties.
Events are advertised through the membership newsletter and the noticeboard within the club.
Members can arrange private functions for both lunch and dinner, if they arrange it with the Steward in advanced.
